I have decided to take stand against the abstract, and fairly useless, concept of rating individual Miscrits on a 1-10 scale. The ratings are arbitrary and I would have to go into great detail about what the numbers mean to me before they have any real relevance to the reader. As such, if anyone wants me to "rate" their Miscrit, I will still take a look at it and tell them if it's good or not, but I won't be assigning any numeric rating.
In related news, I plan on launching a series of posts about rating your own Miscrits and how to determine what category each stat is trending towards. I have started writing this series and I hope to have the first post available within the next week or so.
I also wanted to mention that I have several more great guest posts coming very soon. Darren Lee's Miscrit Rankings series still has three more elements to go, and I think you'll really enjoy seeing the conclusion of his inaugural guest posts. Jordyn Dickey, the author of the Sapphron review, is working on more Miscrit reviews, and personally I can't wait to read more of his fantastic writing. There's also a great series on rare Miscrits coming soon from Ang Yue Feng, AKA Leggy Guy. I think it's going to be very helpful for a lot of current and future players.
There are a lot of exciting things coming soon for the blog, so make sure you check back often for updates!
Looking forward to Darren's miscrit rankings as well as Jordyn's reviews. They are all great so far, and I'm looking forward to my own for sure :3
ReplyDeleteYow yow Leggy Guy, how about a review on Orcatide? the probably toughest miscrit if his random stats became max! hehe..and could he be an excellent water miscrit? :)
ReplyDeleteI am also looking forward to ur posts! More power master leggy guy!
Was my post the one that started this idea?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure which post, or which idea for that matter, you're referring to.
ReplyDeleteWhen you rated my team.
ReplyDeleteAh, no, it wasn't anyone's post in particular that triggered this. My biggest motivation was the amount of time I've had to spend replying to comments. It's gotten to where it takes an hour or more a day just to get through them. It had a very negative impact on the generation of new content on the blog, as you can see by the sparse amount of posts in July. It's really only thanks to the large number of guests posts coming in that the amount of new content has picked up so much in the past couple of weeks. I don't mind helping players by assessing their Miscrits or teams, in fact I actually enjoy it. But I had to find ways to cut down on the amount of time spent doing it, in the best interest of the blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd to be honest, I don't really remember rating your team. I rate dozens of teams and Miscrits every week, so it's hard for me to keep track of everyone's individual posts. I recognize your name, as I recognize the names of many of the frequent posters on here, but I honestly couldn't tell you the Miscrits or teams of anyone I've rated.
@ Pax.PH: I'd probably want to do an Orcatide review, but mine is not level 30 yet and neither have I used him and got more experience. But even still I'd give him the 4/5. Even if he had Max defenses he won't be able to deal as much damage, but I'd say he is still gonna be a beast to defeat. Also I'm still trying to finish up the Sunfall Shore rares list, so it won't be too long. Although I'd try and be around here if anyone needs help. :)
ReplyDeleteErm... I'm guessing this is the place to post teams so rate my second team. Mun Kee, Digsy, DFP, and DP. It's pretty succesful for me. I have two of each attacking type. DP and DFP have great skill lists. I've been debating if I should get a DF instead of DP though... Anyway if I would rate a Orcatide I would say excellent. (Max health, and possibly max defences)
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty awesome team.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
